A recent research review analyzed 18 studies on how positive psychology and mindfulness programs affect heart health. It found that for people with pre-existing high blood pressure, an 8–12-week mindfulness-based program reduced systolic blood pressure (the top number in your blood pressure reading) and lowered inflammatory markers
